Common questions

A freshness date looks wrong

Unless you enter the date printed on the pack, freshness is an estimate from typical shelf lives. Open the item to add its printed date or to mark it opened. The label and your own judgement always come first.

The scan missed something or got it wrong

Nothing is added until you've checked the list, so untick or fix anything that's off, and add what was missed by hand. Scans work best with the door wide open, the light on and one photo per section.

Scanning or dinner ideas aren't available

Photo scans, receipts and dinner ideas need Apple Intelligence, which has to be supported by your device and turned on in Settings. You can still add food by name or with the barcode scanner.

How do I delete my data?

"Empty the fridge" in FridgeSmart's settings removes all your food. Deleting the app removes everything it stored on your device. We don't hold any of it ourselves.
